Meaning before making
The gap this work had to close.
- 01 · The question
Can a grey-coverage brand speak about colour without treating ageing as a problem?
- 02 · The shift
From grey coverage to colour as personal choice.
- 03 · The form
An independent brand narrative study proposing Still Me: a shift from grey correction to colour as personal choice.
01 · Category convention
Visible change is often framed as something to correct.
Most hair-colour communication turns visible change into a problem: cover it, correct it, reverse it. Bigen already has history and functional clarity. The strategic opportunity is emotional language that leaves the choice with the person.
02 · Human tension
Choice disappears when change is treated only as a problem.
Hair colour is rarely only about colour. It is about the mirror, the hand and the small private decision of what still feels like you. Grey can be kept, changed, celebrated or ignored; the idea makes room for choice rather than prescribing an answer.
03 · Strategic reframe
From grey coverage to colour as personal choice.
The reframe shifts the category from correction to agency. Colour does not create another person. It becomes one possible expression of the person already there.
Still Me. Color that feels like you.
04 · Visual system
Domestic grooming, framed with the tension of fashion editorial.
A private bathroom ritual becomes the campaign world: hard morning light, real skin, grey in the beard, product on the counter and a mirror doing more than reflecting.
- 01
Light
Hard morning light with real shadow and warmth.
- 02
Texture
Skin, beard and grey strands remain tactile and visible.
- 03
Ritual
The hand and mirror carry the emotional action.
- 04
Product
Bowl, brush, comb and pack appear as evidence, not a sterile packshot.

05 · Image grammar
The mirror recognises. Texture makes the strategy physical.
Close crops and harder light move the work away from generic beauty polish and into modern grooming. Visible age is treated as identity, never as a before-state waiting to be erased.

06 · AI & method
Strategy and art direction—not an AI-generation exercise.
The concept was built through category analysis, consumer-tension framing and visual-reference curation. The method prioritises domestic intimacy and real texture over beauty-industry polish.
- 01
Role of AI
None. This is a strategic brand-narrative and editorial art-direction study.
